WHY HIRING COULD BE HOT THIS SUMMER
Small businesses did more hiring last summer than any previous summer in a decade, according to the Paychex | IHS Small Business Jobs Index. It was also the third straight summer where we saw an increase in summer hiring.
Over the last 12 months, hiring among businesses with less than 50 employees has been trending up in states such as Indiana,
Missouri and Virginia, and in cities such as Dallas, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Meanwhile, as we head into the summer months, 84% of small business owners are optimistic about the economy, according to the SurePayroll Small Business Scorecard.
It suggests that the summer of 2015 could be a good time for your franchise to hire. Maybe it’s because of increased customer
demand, or because you want to take a vacation and need more backup.
Last month, we talked about the best ways screen job candidates. That advice may come in handy this summer as you take a look at the performance of your franchise and whether or not an increase in employees could help boost revenues and profitability.
