Epcon Communities Founders Inducted into Ohio Building Industry Hall of Fame
Ed Bacome and Phil Fankhauser, founders of Epcon Franchising, have been inducted into the Building Industry Association of Central Ohio’s Hall of Fame. They were named January 25th during the Association’s annual award gala.
The award honors individuals who have made the greatest contribution to the BIA since its formation in 1943. Honorees are chosen for having demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to the industry and their community.
Bacome and Fankhauser started the company in Dublin, Ohio, in 1986, to address the then unmet need for communities designed specifically for active adult home buyers. Their plan quickly succeeded, and they began offering franchises ten years later. Today, Epcon Communities homes attract buyers of all ages, with more than 50 communities throughout Central Ohio for a total of over 375 communities in 28 states.
Ed and Phil’s leadership at Epcon Communities extends beyond the company, both
to the larger Central Ohio community into and throughout the firm’s franchise system. That leadership, along with their dedication to the industry, remains as vibrant, engaging, and as appreciated as ever.
Epcon Communities is the 45th largest homebuilder in the US and 22nd largest privately owned homebuilding company in the US.
